LAKEWOOD - Revenues at Colorado casinos were buoyed for the third month by additional games, limits and hours. Casinos statewide reported $63.4 million in adjusted gross proceeds (AGP) in September, up nearly 7.0 percent from $59.3 million in September 2008, but down 8.9 percent from $69.6 million in August. For the first three months following the implementation of Amendment 50, casino revenues are up 8.3 percent from the same period in 2008. AGP is most simply defined as the amount wagered by bettors less payouts from casinos.

Black Hawk's 18 casinos totaled $44.9 million in AGP in September, up 9.1 percent from $41.1 million in September 2008, but down 9.5 percent from $49.6 million in August. Cripple Creek's 16 casinos produced $12.8 million in AGP in September, up slightly from nearly $12.8 million the previous September, but down 7.5 percent from $13.9 million in August. Central City's six casinos generated $5.7 million in AGP in September, up 6.2 percent from $5.3 million in September 2008, but down 6.5 percent from $6.6 million the previous month.

Casinos statewide paid $7.4 million in gaming tax proceeds in September, up from $6.4 million in August, as casinos progressed through a graduated tax structure that started July 1.
