Early removal

There is only one way you can shorten your interlock ignition requirement.

If you did the early reinstatement on a first time alcohol offense, your chemical test was less than 0.170, and if you completed 4 months of successful driving, the Department of Motor Vehicles will send you a letter indicating that you qualify to have your interlock removed early. Successful driving is defined as 4 consecutive months where no violations have been reported by your interlock provider.

If you have a requirement to have Interlock for more than 9 months, there is no way to shorten this requirement.

If you believe you qualify and you did not receive you may request a hearing by contacting the Hearings Division at 303-205-5606. Your reports from your provider will be ordered to determine what violations were reported to the DMV.
