The mission of the Minority Business Office (MBO) is to promote the development and growth of new and existing minority and woman-owned businesses across Colorado, with particular emphasis on rural areas that do not have ready access to information and technical help.

The MBO's director and staff maintain a network for the distribution of information regarding a variety of sources of business assistance for minority and woman-owned businesspersons. The MBO is also responsible for serving as an advisor to the Governor and General Assembly on issues that matter to this constituency.

Colorado is committed to promoting the growth of a vibrant minority and woman-owned business community through education and assistance.  Activities and objectives of the MBO include:

• Acting as a clearinghouse to disseminate information to the minority and woman-owned business community
  
  
• Establishing networks between the majority and minority business sectors
  
  
• Increasing minority and women's participation in public and private sector contracting
  
  
• Establishing a link between the minority business community and the Governor's office.
