External Vendor Support

Welcome to the Colorado Vendor Management Office (VMO) page which has been designed specifically for vendor and contractor information within the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). This site provides links that will assist vendors in doing business with the State of Colorado.  Some of the areas that the VMO can assist the vendor community include:

Bullet Support inquiries on how to do business with the State
Bullet Answer questions on state level protocols, processes and procedures

Bullet Process requests for contact information
Bullet Provide insight on strategic planning alignment with OIT FY14 Playbook

Bullet Faciliate requests for documents under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA)

IT Staffing / Recruiting

Possibly the most frequent questions received by the VMO are from IT Staffing and Recruting vendors inquiring as to the process for how the state hires IT personnel.  The answer to that question comes in two forms depending on the employment type:

Bullet IT Permanent Staffing - managed directly by OIT Human Resource personnel as of the end of 2012.
Bullet IT Temporary Staffing & IT Project Staffing – this process has been migrated to a central web based platform [Managed Service Portal (MSP) / Vendor Management System (VMS)] to manage ALL non-permanent staffing hires for IT personnel. The state is partnering with a vendor to utilize their internet portal engine to serve as a central point of contact and notification for hiring information.  The move to a central portal is intended to streamline the hiring and evaluation process and shorten the time required for getting people on site.  Moving forward the State of Colorado's BIDS website will not be utilized for hiring temporary stafff.

Vendors interested in signing up to work with the State to access the web portal can send their application request and contact information to the following e-mail address:

For more information on the application process, vendors can contact the Covendis client care team at 1-866-COVENDIS (268-3634).

The Bid Information and Distribution System (BIDS) is a website created to notify interested vendors of the State of Colorado's intent to purchase goods or services competitively. These notifications are termed "solicitations." The purchasing agents at the various executive branch agencies post solicitations on BIDS so that the public may know of their intent. For vendors then, BIDS acts as a centralized clearing house of information on bidding opportunities for these agencies. Vendors registered with BIDS download specifications for solicitations and can opt to receive email notices from the web site as opportunities arise.
