Broadband Mapping

The Colorado Broadband Data and Development Project (CBDDP) reports it has mailed letters to over 100 of Colorado’s broadband service providers that describes the CBDDP’s broadband mapping objectives and invites service provider participation in the project. In light of the recently released National Broadband Plan, the effort could not be more timely or more valuable to our economy.

The CBDDP is funded through a $2.1 million grant from the National Telecommunications Administration to map broadband availability across the state of Colorado. Given the tight deadlines in the federal program, CBDDP has contracted with experts in the fields of data collection, validation and mapping to obtain and process the data. Service providers will be contacted by contractors Critigen and Broadmap regarding the data to be collected.
