December 2013 Jonathan Trull, Chief Information Security Officer, was chosen as one of the "People Who Made A Difference in Cybersecurity 2013" by the SANS Institute.  This award recognizes the significance of the implemention of Secure Colorado to better protect state assets and data.
October 2013 The Governor's Office of Information Technology received the ISM 2013 Recognition Award for Excellence in Human Services Technology (Application of New Technologies category).  The award is in recognition of OIT's implementation of database-as-a-service for the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), the system that determines eligibility for state-managed programs like Medicaid, Food Assistance and more.
September 2013  Apex Technology Project of the Year icon  The Governor's Office of Information Technology received the Apex 2013 Technology Project of the Year award for its implementation of the Colorado Information Marketplace (CIM).  CIM takes Best of Breed ideas from the private sector to create a reusable, transparent and trusted environment for data sharing and gives Coloradans access to information that was previously unavailable or difficult to obtain. 
August 2013  CIO 100 Award 2013 logo   OIT is recognized by IDG's CIO magazine as one of the CIO 100 award winners!  OIT was recognized for its innovative use of technology in regard to the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), the system that determines eligibility for state-managed programs like Medicaid, Food Assistance (SNAP) and Children's Basic Health Plan. 
June 2013  CIO of the Year logo  The Denver Business Journal (DBJ) names Kristin D. Russell as the public/non-profit CIO of the Year in the Public/Non-Profit category.  The CIO of the Year awards recognize local technology leaders who achieve company goals, develop their teams and give back to the community.  The four winners are selected by the Colorado chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM).
June 2013 Colorado receives the 2013 Informatica Innovation Award for OIT's work on the RISE Link Project and "for its use of the Informatica Platform to maximize return on data by delivering benefits beyond IT."
June 2013  Computerworld Laureate badge  OIT is honored as a Finalist in the 2013 Computerworld Honors Program.  OIT received this prestigious award in the Collaboration category for its implementation of the Colorado Information Marketplace, one piece of which is data.colorado.gov.  This category "[r]ecognizes organizations for the innovative use of IT to promote knowledge-sharing and enable collaboration that results in measurable economic, social, environmental or innovation gains."

In recognition of OIT's work on the RISE Link project, the State of Colorado was announced as a finalist in the Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), and Megatrend: Big Data categories of the 2013 Informatica Innovation Awards.  Winners will be announced in June.

February 2013 Government Technology's Top 25 Honoree  Congratulations to Kristin Russell on being named one of Government Technology's Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers for 2013!  This award recognizes visionaries in the public sector for their innovations in improving and strengthening government services.
February 2013  40 Under 40 Logo   Monica Coughlin, Director of IT Economic Development & Broadband Strategy, and Jessica Roe, Chief Communications Officer, were selected as honorees in the Denver Business Journal's Forty Under 40 awards. This annual award recognizes 40 dynamic up and coming leaders under the age of 40 for their business success and contributions to the community.

October 2012

The Center for Digital Government has released the results of the rigorous 2012 Digital States Survey and Colorado is at the front of the pack!  With a B+ rating, Colorado is among the top 16 states receiving high marks for their use of digital technologies to improve service delivery, increase capacity, change cost structures and reach policy goals.

 DGAA Award Logo  The Colorado Eligibility Application Kit (PEAK) was a winner of the Digital Government Achievement Awards (in the Government-to-Citizen state government category). This national award from e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government recognizes and highlights outstanding applications that are enabling government to operate more efficiently.

The Center for Digital Government recently honored Colorado as the winner of its very first annual Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award. The award program recognizes the commitment of government agencies to keep confidential data secure despite evolving threats. The award highlights our state’s early adoption of technology and implementation of processes to mitigate risks and combat security breaches.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Commission's eFORM program selected as one of eight national winners of The Council of State Government's Innovation Awards. The award recognizes Colorado for making smart use of technology to deliver services more efficiently and affordably and for helping reduce the average time it takes to get a permit for drilling a well.

Secretary of Technology and State Chief Information Office Kristin Russell is one of five finalists for the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce "2011 Athena Award."  This award honors the Denver woman who best exemplifies exceptional professional achievement, devotion to community service, and generosity in actively assisting other women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
