Jonathan Trull joined OIT in September 2012, bringing with him a wealth of diverse experience to this critical role. As the Deputy State Auditor, he was primarily responsible for overseeing complex, value-added IT audits at the Colorado Office of the State Auditor (OSA) and for overseeing select performance audits, the OSA’s internal IT plan and infrastructure, and the OSA’s internal report writing and external communications functions. With more than 13 years of experience in governmental auditing and management, Jonathan has established himself as an innovative leader of high quality, objective audits and reviews, including the OSA’s award-winning cyber security audit that used cutting-edge techniques to test the security of state IT systems. Since joining OSA in 2002 as a staff auditor, Jonathan has led or contributed to performance and IT audits and evaluations that identified more than $40 million in potential financial benefits for state agencies.
Previously, Jonathan worked in various positions for the City of Dallas, including Executive Management/Business Process Analyst at the Dallas City Manager’s Office. He also serves his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserves focusing on computer network defense and knowledge management.
Jonathan is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, an Offensive Security Certified Professional, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas.
