Public Records Law & Annual Reports
Company EZ information is a public record. The legislature has declared that individual company information regarding EZ tax credits will be a public record. This change will apply to certifications covering tax years beginning on or after August 7, 2002. Information on research & development expenditures, as well as information that would reveal an individual employee's salary, is excluded from this requirement. Revised "Certification of Qualified Enterprise Zone Business" forms (DR0074), as well as forms DR0076 (EZ Vacant Building Rehabilitation Certification) and DR0077 (Research & Development Certification), incorporating these changes are available from the Department of Revenue website. Taxpayers filing certifications covering tax years beginning on or after 8/7/02 must use the new form. Certifications covering earlier tax years will remain confidential tax documents.
