Medical Clean Claims Task Force
House Bill 10-1332, “Medical Clean Claims Transparency and Uniformity Act”, signed by the Governor on May 12, 2010, requires the executive director of the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to convene a task force of industry and government representatives to develop a standardized set of payment rules and claim edits to be used by payers and health care providers in Colorado.
There are 25 members of the Task Force. Task Force members are appointed by the Health Care Policy and Financing Executive Director as outlined in HB 10-1332. Stakeholders were selected to comprise a balanced representation of the health care community.
All Task Force decisions are made by consensus vote. Members of the public are encouraged to attend all meetings.
Members of the public are also encouraged to attend and participate in subcommittee meetings, where business items are robustly discussed before being brought to the full Task Force for consensus.
Meetings are held in the Denver Metro area with teleconferencing and webinar access available. The Task Force's initial report was submitted on January 30, 2013 and has resulted in Senate Bill 13-166, which is currently going through the legislative process. This legislation extends the work of the Task Force through December 31, 2014.
