FY 2009-10 Comprehensive Primary and Preventive Care (CPPC) Grant Program
The budget picture for FY 2009-10 has changed substantially and repeatedly since the Department submitted its initial FY 2009-10 budget to the Joint Budget Committee in November 2008.
The General Assembly passed SB 09-210, which significantly reduces funds for the CPPC Grant Program for the upcoming fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009. The reduction means that there is no funding for new projects in FY 2009-10 for CPPC grants. Available funds for previously awarded multi-year CPPC grants with contracted deliverables in FY 2009-10 have also been reduced. The Department will work with these multi-year CPPC grantees to manage the limited available funds.
Approximately $29.4 million has been disbursed to health care providers since the first grant awards were made in April 2001. This funding has given grantees the ability to provide medical, dental, mental health and pharmaceutical services to at least 128,562 patients in 295,123 encounters and in funding 36 construction or remodeling projects that resulted in additional or updated facilities.
The Department looks forward to awarding additional CPPC grants for improving access to primary and preventative care services for low-income, uninsured Coloradans when the state¿s economic environment improves.
