GOV. RITTER NAMES NEW OIL-AND-GAS COMMISSIONER
Gov. Bill Ritter today announced he has nominated Dr. DeAnn Craig of Denver to serve on the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
Craig has a long career in the petroleum industry, including previously serving as president of Phillips Petroleum Resources Ltd., manager of worldwide drilling and production for Phillips, president of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and senior vice president of CNX Gas Corp.
She is currently an adjunct professor in the Petroleum Engineering Department at the Colorado School of Mines, teaching graduate coursework on economic risk and property valuation.
Craig earned an interdisciplinary doctorate degree from the Colorado School of Mines in 2005. She also holds two masters and two bachelor degrees from the School of Mines and a masters of business administration from Regis University.
The appointment is for three years, expiring July 1, 2012, and requires Senate confirmation.
The nine-member Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission promotes the responsible development of Colorado's oil and gas natural resources.
