GOV. RITTER DECLARES KEEP COLORADO WORKING DAY (THURSDAY, NOV. 20TH)

Gov. Bill Ritter today encouraged Coloradans across the state to take part in "Keep Colorado Working Day."  On Nov. 13th, Gov. Ritter announced the day as part of a larger economic and job creation initiative to keep Coloradans working and to keep the state's economy strong in the midst of the national downturn.

"During these uncertain and unprecedented economic circumstances, it is vital for the state to provide the resources and to pursue aggressive economic development efforts to help cure the economic woes that are painfully felt by individuals and families throughout Colorado," Gov. Ritter said.  "With the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment taking the lead, our goal with this day is to connect job seekers with employers, and do all we can to get people working again."

The day will include a series of events at workforce centers, including:

  • Nine regional job fairs and hiring events;
  • Sixty workforce center open-houses;

Job seekers in need of employment services may visit any Workforce Center where all services are provided at no cost.  A variety of services are available to Colorado businesses at these offices as well.
