DENVER — Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced several Boards and Commissions appointments today. The appointments were to the Advising Committee on the Licensing of Child Care Facilities; the Chemical Demilitarization Citizens Advisory Commission; the Coal Mine Board of Examiners; the Colorado Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice; the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit; the Justice Assistance Grant Program; the Southern Ute Indian Tribe/State of Colorado Environmental Control Commission; and the State Methamphetamine Task Force.
The Advising Committee on the Licensing of Child Care Facilities counsels the Department of Human Services on the licensing of child care facilities such as day care centers, family care homes, residential child care facilities and camps. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2015:
The Chemical Demilitarization Citizens Advisory Commission provides citizen input and expresses state concerns regarding the U.S. Army program for the disposal of chemical warfare agents and munitions at the Pueblo Army Depot.The members appointed by and with terms expiring at the pleasure of the governor:
The Coal Mine Board of Examiners prepares and conducts examinations for all applicants to positions in coal mines that require certification under federal law. The Board issues certificates of competency to those who qualify and provides assistance in developing curricula for coal miner training programs. The Colorado Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice engages in an evidence-based analysis of the criminal justice system in Colorado and annually reports to the governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the Senate, and the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. The Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit advises and consults with the assistant attorney general concerning the Attorney General’s powers under the consumer credit code.The member appointed for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2015:
The Justice Assistance Grant Program advises the Division of Criminal Justice on issues related to federal block grant monies designated to improve the criminal justice system, reduce drug abuse and violent crimes. The member appointed for a term expiring July 31, 2015:
The Southern Ute Indian Tribe/State of Colorado Environmental Control Commission adopts air quality standards and rules pertaining to the reservation air program. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2015:
The State Methamphetamine Task Force examines the prevention, intervention and treatment of the abuse of methamphetamines. The task force also examines the production, distribution and laws concerning methamphetamines. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2014:
