Gov. Hickenlooper names public trustees in Arapahoe and Mesa counties

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced today public trustee appointments for Arapahoe and Mesa counties. Hickenlooper has statutory authority to fill the positions in 10 counties and has previously named the other eight appointments.


The new trustees appointed are:


  • Cynthia Dianne Mares of Centennial, for Arapahoe County. Mares is currently working in the Office of the Attorney Regulation Counsel for the Colorado Supreme Court.
  • Michael D. Moran of Grand Junction, for Mesa County. Moran is currently working as an attorney in bankruptcy, real estate, family and business law.

About public trustees
Public Trustees handle public transactions and foreclosures on real estate properties. They oversee the administration of Deeds of Trust including releasing them when a loan has been satisfied and foreclosing in the event of default. The public trustee is also responsible for the collection of tax accounts for Land Purchase Contracts for Deed within his or her county.
