DENVER — Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced appointments to several Boards and Commissions. The appointments were made to the Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Advisory Board, the Colorado Aeronautical Board, the Peace Officers Standards and Training Board, the Governor’s Commission on Community Service, the Governor’s River Access Mediation Commission, and the Boxing Commission.
The Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Advisory Board advises the Securities Commissioner on the development of policies, rules and procedures regarding the registration of bond issues, ordinances and resolutions and applications for authorization to file federal bankruptcy petitions. The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2015:
The Colorado Aeronautical Board assesses and adopts a plan to address the state’s aviation needs. The appointments must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The members appointed with terms expiring Dec. 19, 2014:
The Peace Officers Standards and Training Board oversees the certification of training programs, training academies and instructors of police officer candidates. The Board also certifies qualified peace officers. The members appointed are:
The Governor’s Commission on Community Service recommends to the Governor a comprehensive national and community service plan for the state that is developed through an open and public process and updated annually. The plan addresses the state’s needs in the areas of school safety, preventing youth violence, literacy and mentoring of disadvantaged youth. The members appointed for terms expiring Aug. 24, 2014:
The Governor’s River Access Mediation Commission convenes on an as-needed basis to help mediate and resolve particularly acute disputes between boaters, either commercial or non-commercial, and the relevant private property owner or owners. Members appointed for terms expiring Sept. 9, 2015:
The Boxing Commission regulates the conduct, promotion, and performance of live boxing and kickboxing matches in Colorado.
