Energy Permitting

Background

In 2012, the Colorado Legislature tasked the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) with sustaining Colorado’s energy economy, encouraging clean and innovative energy solutions, and promoting economic development through energy-market advancements creating jobs.

CEO has identified the energy permitting process as a particular area of focus in reaching these goals.  Colorado is known for efficient and effective permitting processes that balance the need for environmental protection with an attractive climate for new businesses.  However, new companies often find that it is helpful have a neutral voice to explain the expectations of the permitting process as well as a facilitating party to help overcome any obstacles encountered during the process.

Service

CEO offers to educate and provide facilitating services to companies interested in developing energy projects in Colorado.  If this is you, we encourage you to contact us.

CEO will have three main goals in working with you:

1.     Help you understand the timeline and information required to successfully receive any needed permits.

2.     Provide a conduit to contact the appropriate people in jurisdictions in which you are applying for permits.

3.     Facilitate the resolution of any situations in which current permitting processes may not accurately fit your project.
