Natural Gas Vehicles

Natural Gas as a Component of a Balanced Energy Portfolio for Transportation Fuels

Colorado ranks sixth among US states for natural gas production, which provides a tremendous opportunity for the state to utilize clean Colorado energy in both the transportation and electricity sector. While most people associate natural gas with electrical generation or home heating, it is also a clean and affordable transportation fuel that is already being used in a number of medium and heavy-duty fleets. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, natural gas has consistently been the lowest cost fuel available, averaging around $2.50 per gasoline gallon equivalent.

CEO is seeking to enhance the role of natural gas in our transportation sector by engaging with local governments and the private sector to promote public-private partnerships and practical actions that will seek to maximize the benefits of a clean affordable, Colorado produced fuel.
