Goals for 2009

1. Streamline process for expeditious receipt, review and issuance of
Position Statements, Advisory Opinions and Letter Rulings.

2. Improve public information about the IEC and Article XXIX through
a. more ambitious website

b. expanded contact list
c. education and training efforts

3. Create and implement an education and training program for public
officials and employees covered by Article XXIX, incorporating:
a. more ambitious website
b. in-person training within metro Denver area
c. training for more distant areas of state
d. expanded contact list
e. outreach to and participation in conferences of CCI, CML and
similar groups

4. Acquire and implement a data management system to better keep
track of informational requests and responses.

5. Revise the IEC's Rules of Procedure, if needed.

6. Investigate and incorporate available technology to allow for
Commission meeting participation without in-person attendance.

7. Work with the legislature on budget issues, with the goal of securing
sufficient monies for operating expenses, educational materials, and
adequate staffing to accomplish the foregoing goals.
