CPR: The Heart Smart Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program
Learn CPR in case of an emergency at home or at work. This is a nationally recognized program that provides a reality-based approach to learning CPR. Participants will learn how to perform CPR in a way that minimizes detailed, technical protocols and stresses the fundamentals of CPR.

The Respectful Workplace
Defining respect is an essential element for any team. Through interactive activities, participants will learn what constitutes a respectful workplace and practical skills for getting there. New and seasoned teams will benefit through shared understanding for more effective communication and work relationships. This workshop is a great team building exercise and intact teams are encouraged to attend as a group. Individual employees are welcome as well. Pre-Retirement Workshops I, II and III

I - Retirement Planning for Early Career Employees (Session 1)
If you are new to State employment, it's never too early to begin saving and planning for retirement. This three hour workshop is designed for employees with less than 5 years of service. You will learn how to maximize and utilize the benefits available to you as well as other strategies for saving for retirement and building a strong financial future. While PERA and other State plans will be reviewed, this workshop will focus on the different options for early saving both inside and outside of the State system. Not sure about the difference between a 401K, 457B, Roth IRA, Traditional IRA? Concerned about saving on a limited budget? This workshop will help you sort through the options and decide on your next steps for planning your financial future.

Mid-career is a critical point for retirement planning. Conflicting interests, such as education expenses, can lead to neglect of proper planning and investment. This three hour workshop is designed for employees with 6-20 years of service who are not yet eligible for retirement. You will learn how to maximize and utilize the State benefits available to you as well as other strategies for saving for retirement and building a strong financial future. Common terminology and alternative investment options as well as understanding service credit purchase and how to effectively review and manage your current portfolio will be covered. You will leave with information to help you make informed choices.

III - Retirement Planning in Later Career (Session 3)
This workshop will focus on planning for retirement within 1 to 3 years. Understanding the implications of various payout options, preserving capital and managing savings and investments in an informed manner will be covered. You will participate in retirement analysis and budget exercises, learn about insurance options and understand PERA Modified Rule of 80 and cost of living adjustments. The impact of PERA benefits on Social Security will also be reviewed. The psychology of retirement and lifestyle management issues will also be discussed as you begin this significant transition.
