Model Practices and Policies

Consulting Services conducts State agency audits in part to identify innovative HR practices and we would like to share some of those successful approaches or model practices with interested agencies.

It is rare that a program practice, policy, or solution can be seamlessly transferred to other organizations. However, the practices profiled here provide opportunities for HR professionals to learn about different approaches and determine whether the practice or elements of the model can be adapted into their own organization.

Consulting Services does not attempt to provide comprehensive descriptions of each practice, but rather summarizes the information.

Model HR Practices and Polices identified in Departments and Institutions are categorized as follows:

Note: Sample documents that were created by DHR for agencies to use are now available in MS Word format so that users can download the document and personalize it with their own information. Tailor these model practices and policies to meet your operational needs. Model practices from various departments are in PDF format.

DHR continues to look for other innovative practices to add to this list.  If you know of a practice that you would like to share with other agencies, please contact us.
