Security Issues

In order to ensure the security of state facilities and employees, a formal credentialing process has been established.

Agency Responsibilities

  • Authorized Human Resources Representative or delegate submits a written request via the official State ID Badge website for each badge.
  • Collects ID Badges from any person who leaves state employment or transfers to another agency

Hirsch Security System

  • For buildings with Hirsch keypad entries, additional access codes are required through the Colorado State Patrol.
  • To obtain a Hirsch code, complete an Application for Security Access Code.
  • Employees should contact your supervisor for information on your agency's procedure in obtaining building access.

Proximity Cards

Agencies housed in the State Capitol Building, State Services Building at 1525 Sherman Street, and 690 Kipling Street have the capability to utilize a proximity card badge that allows an employee's Hirsch code to be programmed into their ID Badge.  The cost for a proximity card badge is $10.  Capitol Complex Facilities Management can process the badge and submit the information to Colorado State Patrol to be programmed.  Contact 303-866-4357 for more information.
