IDS Mail Operations is a work partner with the U.S. Post Office. We are here to advise all government agencies in the Denver Metro area and southern regions, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Canon City, on selecting envelopes, materials, printing, and postal options that will obtain processing and postage efficiencies for state mailers. We can assist in choosing the appropriate class of mail, obtaining maximum postage discounts, and preparing mail to meet USPS regulations.

The State of Colorado is now using the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB), developed and recently implemented by the USPS, in an effort to give customers greater visibility into the mail stream. OneCodeConfirm™ combines the capabilities of the POSTNET and PLANET barcodes with additional data into a single barcode. As of January 13, 2012, all discounted mailings must use the IMB in order to continue to get your mailing discounts.

IDS Mail Operations provides a cost effective mail operation for the State.

  • Educating to government agencies for proper mail preparation.

  • Ensuring maximization of postal discounts.

The State of Colorado now applies the Intelligent Mail barcode (formerly known as the 4-State Customer Barcode) is the next generation of USPS® barcode technology used to sort and track letters and flats. Intelligent Mail barcode technology, among other things, combines the capabilities of the POSTNET™ barcode.

  • Address Quality Progams- NCOA , CASS, DPV, Suitelink, LacsLink

State of Colorado is the first State to be its own NCOA vendor. NCOALink™ is a secure dataset of approximately 160 million change-of-addresses going back 48 months that enable mailers to update mailing lists with new addresses from individuals, families and businesses that have moved. NCOALink™ provides return codes that offer information about name and address records that do not exactly match the United States Postal Service® change-of address database. Cass Certification, Suitelink and LacsLink and DPV™ (Verifies Accuracy of Deliverable Addresses) are now included as part of NCOALink™ and DPV™. DPV™ allows you to target your mailings more efficiently to reduce list production and postage costs. DPV™ determines if the address exists down to an apartment or suite number and can be delivered by the USPS®. The State of Colorado is a approved secure facility approved for this process.

We sort our flats on a manifesting machine to be able to save the customer anywhere from 30 cents to 50 cents per flat. We have a combined mailing agreement with USPS that allows us to combine all of the mail we process so that every agency qualifies for discounts, it doesn’t matter if an agency mails 5 letters or 500 letters, they all will get the discount on their mail.
