Resolution 38 Proposed Modifications - 2013
The Colorado Division of Housing (DOH) is currently accepting comments on proposed modifications to existing Resolutions 38 that provides the rules for installation of all manufactured housing (mobile, manufactured, and factory-built, new and used) in Colorado.
The purpose of the proposed amendments is summarized below;
- Update the current referenced “Colorado Manufactured Housing Installation Code” (Resolution 38 - SCHEDULE “B”) to the most currently available manufactured housing installation codes with amendments, including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 225, Model Manufactured Home Installation Standard 2013 Edition and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 24 CFR Part 3285, Model Manufactured Home Installation Standards, April 1, 2009 and 24 CFR Part 3280, Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, April 1, 2009,
- Clarify the scope and jurisdiction of the (DOH) Housing and Technology Section concerning manufactured housing installations,
- Modify existing language for ease of use and more uniform service delivery statewide.
It is anticipated that these proposed Resolution modifications will be submitted through the state rulemaking process in 2013. A public hearing and comment period will be a part of the state rulemaking in process in addition to this request for comments. In addition, the State Housing Board will formally adopt these Resolutions after the completion of the state rule making process.
