Colorado Homeless and Runaway Youth Awareness Month

Awareness Month Logo

Each November a public awareness campaign on homeless and runaway youth issues is conducted both locally and nationally. The Office of Homeless Youth Services provides statewide leadership for the annual campaign and participates in national planning efforts through the National Runaway Switchboard.

One of the Colorado Homeless Youth Action Plan strategies is to conduct a public awareness campaign on youth homelessness each November. The primary goals of Colorado Homeless and Runaway Youth Awareness Month are:

  • To increase awareness of the issues facing homeless and runaway youth; and
  • To educate the public about the solutions and the role they can play in preventing and ending youth homelessness.
