The Community Development Office provides technical assistance and training services to local governments through a series of workshops and recorded webinars related to land use planning, economic development, and sustainable community development.
A full day Grant Skills Workshop was held on August 5, 2014 at the Embassy Suites in Loveland to provide training on grant research, writing and management to flood and fire-affected communities. Attendees heard from grant writers, grant managers, foundation representatives and others who share their expertise, tools and tips and answered questions. An afternoon session provided Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) training for current and future grant recipients. Workshop materials are available here.
On July 18th, over 150 partners involved in flood recovery attended this full day symposium in Loveland. This event brought together municipal, county, and special district officials, members of the watershed coalitions, ditch company and water conservancy district representatives, and state and federal agency representatives in a forum to address the future of flood-affected watersheds.
