How the Funds are Distributed:

Senate Bill 08-218 made significant changes to the method and process for the direct distribution of Federal Mineral Lease receipts. Formerly, the Colorado State Treasurer made quarterly payments to qualifying school districts. Pursuant to C.R.S. 34-63-102(5.4)(e), these formula payments are now made annually each August 31st by the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA).
