Overview:
To provide a range of services and activities having a measurable and potentially major impact on causes of poverty in the community or those areas of the community where poverty is a particularly acute problem. Eligible activities include employment, education, income management, housing, emergency services, nutrition, linkages with other programs, self sufficiency, and health. Colorado has 40 eligible entities that receive CSBG funds annually, which are distributed on a formula basis. Ninety percent of the funds are allocated to the 40 eligible entities, while five percent is for administration and five percent is reserved to the Governor's discretion.

LEGAL NOTICE
The Joint Budget Committee, in conjunction with the review of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs annual budget request, will hold a public hearing to solicit review and comment on the FFY2012 and FFY2013 State Plan for the distribution of Community Services Block Grant funds. The hearing will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the Legislative Services Building in the JBC Hearing Room, 3rd floor, 200 East 14th Street, Denver, CO 80203.
