In November of 1978, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sullivan notified the Colorado Department of Education of their intent to donate a collection of original oil paintings by portrait artist Lawrence Williams. Entitled "Gallery of Presidents," the collection included 38 portraits of Presidents of the United States. |

Born in 1900 in La Junta, Colorado, Jack L. Fitzpatrick was a pioneer in the broadcasting business in Colorado. Mr. Fitzpatrick worked a variety of jobs until the age of 25, when he was hired as a general assignment reporter for the Pueblo Star Journal for $17.50 per week. |
