The Aid To The Needy Disabled (AND) program provides a small cash assistance benefit to low-income Colorado residents age 18 – 59 who have at least a six-month total disability that precludes them from working.
AND applicants/recipients must apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
The goal of these programs is to provide interim financial assistance while waiting for SSI approval.
Other income such as wages or Veteran's Assistance, may reduce the amount of the AND payment. There are no medical benefits provided by the AND program. When the primary diagnosis is alcoholism or drug abuse, the AND recipient:
To qualify for AND benefits you must be between 18 and 59 years old for the AND program. You must be a colorado resident, a citizen of the United States, a naturalized citizen or an eligible legal resident. You must meet all other eligibility requirements.
