Envisioned and propelled on the grassroots level by many concerned parents, the “YES, EVERYONE CAN PLAY” project was created. The project’s initial goal was to remove an antiquated and unsafe playground system at the Phillips County Homesteaders Park, which is part of the Phillips County Fairground complex, with a universally accessible playground.
The vision grew to include an all-weather turf field, a disc golf course and improvements to the parking lot and expanding and improving the current walking paths. |
The project has been made possible by grants from:

Work began on the playground and turf field portion of the project in the fall of 2011 but due to weather delays, this phase of the project will not be complete until the Spring of 2012. The CDOT Enhancement portion of the project which includes work to the parking lot and walking path will begin in the Spring of 2012 and will not be complete until the Summer of 2013.
At its completion, the Homesteaders’ Park project will add another beautiful and family – friendly recreational facility to Phillips County. |
