Responsibilities of the Election Department

The election department is responsible for voter registration; compilation of ballots, absentee ballots, and early voting ballots for the regular primary, general and special county elections; training of election judges; conduct of election day procedures; tabulation of election day results, and certification of the election with the County Canvass Board.

Important Election Information

·         To register to vote you must

o    Be a United States citizen

o    Register to vote no later than 29 days before the election

o    Be 18 years old on or before the date of the election

o    Reside in Colorado and at your present address at least 30 days before the election

·         Online Voter Registration – You can register online to vote or make any changes to your voter registration if you have a Colorado State driver’s license or an ID card issued by the Department of Revenue

·         You also have the option if you are a first-time voter, inactive voter, or have had a change of address, affiliation, etc. to complete this form and either mail to Phillips County Clerk, 221 S Interocean Ave, Holyoke, CO 80734, email a signed PDF attachment to pcclerk@hotmail.com or drop it off at the Clerk’s office in the Phillips County Courthouse (same address).

·         If you are a college student, you can vote by mail-in ballot

o    Complete and return this form to the Clerk’s office – English version or Spanish version or you can register for permanent mail-in ballot

·         Register for permanent mail-in ballot status
