How can I get a library card?
You must present proof of your current Moffat County address, a government issued photo ID and current phone number. If your driver's license does not list your present address, you may use an imprinted check, utility bill, typewritten rent receipt, etc. No handwritten receipts will be accepted. (If you are not a resident of Moffat County, there is a $15 annual charge for a non-resident card.) Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when applying for a card. What materials are available for me to check out?
Our collection includes books, audio cassette books, audio CD books, video cassettes, DVDs, periodicals, and eAudiobooks. Our reference materials, rare books and current periodicals cannot be checked out. For more information on library check-out policies, click here.
How many items may I check out at one time?
New patrons (those who have had library cards for less than one month) may check out three items at a time. Resident patrons who have attained "regular" status may have a total of 25 items at a time on their cards. Non-residents may check out five items at a time. Videos, DVDs and new adult fiction books have a 1-week checkout. All other materials have a 2-week checkout. You may check out up to 3 DVDs and 3 playaways at a time, per household. Do I need my library card to check out items?
YES! And you must also show your card when you pick up an interlibrary loan item. If you are picking up an item for another patron, you must show that patron's card. For more information on library check-out policies, click here.
How long may I keep an item I've checked out?
Most items may be checked out for two weeks. Exceptions are new adult fiction books, DVDs, and videos, which check out for one week. The check-out period for interlibrary loan materials varies according to the policy of the lending library. For more information on library check-out policies, click here.
