 Re: Primary Election

 Residents of Costilla County,

Costilla County Clerk and Recorder, Karen Garcia, is seeking written comments from the residents of Costilla County, regarding whether or not the June 26, 2012 Primary Election should be conducted by mail ballot only.

House Bill 1015 gives the Clerk and Recorder authority to conduct a Primary Election as a Mail Ballot election.

A mail ballot election is where Costilla County Democrat and Republican voters will receive their ballot about three weeks prior to the Primary Election by mail. Voters will have until 7 p.m. on June 26, 2012 to return their voted primary ballot by mail or they may drop it off at the Costilla County Clerk and Recorder’s office.

Residents may submit written comments no later than 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 to Karen Garcia, Costilla County Clerk and Recorder’s Office or comments can be submitted via e-mail to karen.garcia@costillacounty.net.
