How do I find what legislative districts I live in?

Every ten years, the boundaries of legislative districts are redrawn based upon changes in population. This process is usually referred to as "redistricting" or "reapportionment." It affects election districts for the state Senate and the state House of Representatives, as well as election districts for the federal House of Representatives in the United States Congress.

FIND YOUR STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT NUMBERS AND REPRESENTATIVES

Viewing Interactive Colorado State Legislative Districts Maps will allow you to to find the legislative districts in which you reside. It will give you your State House and State Senate district as well as your U.S. Congressional district's number and the name of the representative for that district. After you get the state legislative district numbers and names you can find the legislator's contact information.

HOW TO USE THE LOCATE MY LEGISLATOR FEATURE

On the right hand side of the map there is a Find/Change Location option. This option lets you locate street addresses, city, and county data. Due to the dated nature of the street used in the map, the street information may not contain your street address. You may try the street address with the city included. If your street address can not be found, you may begin by locating the county or city in which you reside. Then use the Zoom In feature on the left hand side of the map until you can see where you reside on the map. At that point you can click on the District Info button on the left hand side and then click on the map at the location where you reside. In a few seconds a box will appear at the bottom of the map with a list of the district numbers and names for that area's state Senator, state House of Representatives, and the U.S. Congressional Representative.
