Members

Commission membership, duties and staff are described in statute (see House Bill 2007-1358 or 16-11.3-102 and 16-11.3-103, C.R.S.). According to statute, some members are designated while other members are appointed by the Governor, by the Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court, by the Speaker or the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, or by the President or the Minority Leader of the Senate. Designated members serve without term limit while appointed members serve no more than two consecutive full terms, in addition to any partial term. Notations are provided for each member below that indicate the type of position and, if appointed, the appointment date. Those who previously served on the Commission are recognized below.
