Annually since 2008, the Commission has generated recommendations intended to improve the criminal justice system in Colorado. Some of the recommendations are general while others are specific, but all were intended to remove barriers to offender success while enhancing public safety and reducing victimization. Many of the recommendations are directed to specific agencies that are responsible for offender populations and address agency practices whereas others suggest legislation to modify Colorado Revised Statutes. The ultimate goal of these and future recommendations is to reduce recidivism and to optimize the efficient use of public resources. Pursuant to 16-11.3-103(2)d), C.R.S. (H.B. 07-1358), the Commission studies and evaluates the outcomes and implementation status of the recommendations approved by the Commission. Below are lists of recommendation categories with every recommendation grouped BY TOPIC, BY TASK FORCE, BY STATUS and BY FISCAL YEAR. The links below navigate to a page containing brief recommendation descriptions and links to Acrobat portable document files (pdf)* where one may find additional details on the annual implementation updates for each recommendation. * Click this link to download the free Adobe reader: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ |
