Two suspects were arrested during a traffic stop in the Woodland Park area following an early morning robbery and assault in Cripple Creek on January 15, 2014.
It’s believed the suspects (one male, one female) began interacting with a 22-year-old male guest at the Midnight Rose casino/hotel in the evening hours of January 15. The suspects went to the victim’s hotel room where they apparently demanded cash from the man after physically assaulting him.
A struggle between the victim and suspects ensued and spilled out into the hallway of the hotel. The suspects allegedly threatened to brandish a handgun during the struggle. The suspects fled the scene shortly thereafter.
The victim was treated at a Pueblo urgent care site for injuries sustained during the incident.
Police Chief April Peterson of the Cripple Creek Police Department requested the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the crime.
CBI agents began conducting numerous interviews, following-up on leads and processing the crime scene at the hotel.
On January 15, just after 4:30 p.m., members of the Woodland Park Police Department made a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the suspects’ car at East Highway 24 and Morning Sun Drive in Woodland Park, Colorado.
Dominique Hagens (DOB: 06/15/1989, Colorado Springs) and Jasmin Stokes (DOB: 09/20/1987, Colorado Springs) were taken into custody and face charges of aggravated robbery and first degree assault.
