To keep pace with emerging public health challenges, to address the leading causes of death and disability, and to improve, protect and preserve our environment and natural resources, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment initiated an effort to achieve measurable impact quickly in a few areas. Colorado's 10 Winnable Battles are public health and environmental priorities with large-scale impact on health and the environment, and with known, effective strategies to address them.

Representatives from the ABC Driving School, Pueblo City-County Health Department, Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, and Colorado State Patrol and Pueblo Community College will help teens become more effective drivers and understand Colorado’s Teen Driving Law. The “Teens Driving Safer” class will teach teens how to care for their car, rules of the road and road safety. Class is offered 9:00am – 1:30pm Friday, June 22, 2012 at Pueblo Community College. The class, available for no cost, is open to teens 15-19 years old and parents. Class is sponsored by Guy Hammerland of State Farm Insurance and the Colorado Department of Transportation.
