We care about your privacy. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has a responsibility to protect the health information of Colorado citizens. We collect personal health information to improve the publics’ health and wellbeing. All medical records are held in strict confidence.

 

The Privacy Office of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment:

 

Assures Department compliance with the federal medical privacy law (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, HIPAA), state statutes and Board of Health regulations
Provides mandatory staff training in privacy and security
Informs personnel about privacy and security safeguards
Implements privacy and security policies and procedures
