The Colorado General Assemble passed legislation in 2010 (HB 10-1018), 25-17-202.8, C.R.S., for the purchase of equipment and supplies for the prevention, preparation, response to, and/or handling of waste tire fires. The legislation authorizes funds be made available to fire departments, fire districts and other first responder fire entities as a financial incentive to purchase equipment and supplies for use at waste tire fires in Colorado.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division (the "Division") requests applications for grants that will be awarded from the Waste Tire Program's Waste Tire Fire Prevention Fund Grant. The award limit is $90,000.
