Section 8 Recycling and Beneficial Use Regulations

Facilities that are operated for the purpose of processing, reclaiming or recycling are subject to Section 8 of the Regulations Pertaining to Solid Waste Sites and Facilities.  Facilities are classified by the types of materials handled and how they are operated. Section 8 also includes standards for reuse of some solid wastes by establishing beneficial use criteria.

A hearing on revised Section 8 - Recycling and Beneficial Use was held on February 21, 2012 before the Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.  The proposed regulations were developed through a stakeholder process and became effective on March 30, 2012.
