The Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division is one of four environmental divisions at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Division staff are trained in engineering, geology, hydrology, mining, chemistry, biology, ecology, industrial hygiene, radiation, communications and records management. Core program areas include oversight of hazardous waste management, solid waste management, recycling, radioactive materials management, radiation-producing machines, radon outreach and site remediation.
