Outreach, training, workshops and assistance The Division offers several resources to help you understand the regulations and how they apply to you.  This includes a wide variety of guidance and policy documents as well as workshops and other trainings designed to clarify the regulations and provide an open forum for questions.   In addition, our technical staff are available to provide regulatory interpretation and guidance over the phone or by email.

Overview of Colorado's Hazardous Waste Regulations
Full-Day Workshop

 

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment presents a one-day hazardous waste workshop for environmental managers, compliance staff and other generators.  The workshop is designed to provide an overview of the Colorado hazardous waste regulations, including hazardous waste identification, management, treatment, recycling, inspections, enforcement and assistance resources.

Colorado's Waste Tires: Building Markets for Tomorrow 

 

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is hosting a conference for anyone involved with waste tire management. This conference is intended to provide the latest and best information on regional markets, market development and trends, technologies and beneficial end uses for waste tires. Presentations will cover topics including civil engineering applications, highway construction with tire-derived aggregate, sports and playground surfacing, molded products, rubber asphalt and tire-derived fuel.

Self-Certification Checklists as a Learning Tool

 

Use the self-certification checklists as a training tool throughout the year to help your facility stay in compliance with state regulations.  Please use the special training versions provided below - DO NOT complete and submit one of these checklists to the Division.  If you would like to discuss the results of your survey and/or schedule a free onsite compliance assistance visit, please contact the Generator Assistance Program (GAP) coordinator.

 

 

Note:  If you have received a notice that completion of a self-certification survey is mandaotry for your facility, DO NOT use this form.  Your notice includes information on how to access the official self-certification checklist that is required for your site.

Proper Drug Disposal for Long Term Care Facilities

Half-Day Workshop

 

Beginning in September 2013, Long Term Care Facilities are required to certify that they are properly disposing of pharmaceutical and other wastes. Representatives from Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Solid and Hazardous Waste Program presented an overview of the requirements to help keep facilities in compliance.  The workshop material was specifically geared toward Long Term Care Facilities.

Waste Management for Small Health Care Facilities
