Certificate of Compliance

The Department cannot issue a license unless it has received a copy of the Certificate of Compliance for the Colorado Department of Public Safety.

Effective July 1, 2013, the regulatory oversight of building and Life Safety Code compliance is transferred from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to the Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) within Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS). The transfer was enacted by House Bill 12-1268 (see Section 25-1.5-103 (5)(c), C.R.S.) CDPS will issue a certificate of compliance to facilities that meet its requirements.
