SEMTAC

 

The State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council (SEMTAC) is made up of 25 Governor-appointed members and seven non-voting (ex-officio) members representing the interests of Colorado citizens and emergency medical services providers across Colorado. It is the responsibility of the Council to advise the Department on matters related to the development, implementation and improvement of emergency medical and trauma services statewide.

Advisory Responsibilities

 

 

 

The Injury Community Prevention Group (ICPG) coordinates the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council's (SEMTAC) involvement in injury prevention initiatives by collaborating with Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Councils (RETACs), Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS) providers, facilities, non-profit associations, public health organizations and others.

The Public Policy and Finance Committee (PPFC) makes recommendations regarding public policy and legislation at the local, county, and state levels and provides resources to support the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council's (SEMTAC) mission.

Meeting Minutes

 

 

The EMS Safety Task Force is on ongoing work group created by the SEMTAC in 2007 to improve safety practices within the Colorado EMS community.  Efforts are targeted toward provider and patient safety issues with an ongoing focus on safe operation of ambulances.  The group has also been responsible for program planning of the Colorado EMS Safety Summit and monitors national EMS safety initiatives on behalf of the State of Colorado.
