Emergency Medical Services Program

The EMTS Section is the Colorado State EMS Office that ensures an effective emergency medical services system. Activities of the section include:

• EMS Provider certification and recertification
• Regulation of EMS provider scope of practice
• Registration of EMS medical directors
• Recognition of EMS education programs
• Air ambulance licensing

Related EMS activities include management of the statewide EMS for Children program, radio systems coordination and prehospital data collection. Ground ambulance services are licensed by Colorado’s 64 counties.
