The law was extended via House Bill 10-1052 through July 1, 2017, and again via Senate Bill 13-050 through July 1, 2026. The act created a 13-member Assistance Committee (the committee) to advise the Pollution Prevention Advisory Board (the board) on grant awards and rebates from the Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity Fund . In addition, the committee had the former responsibility of making grant recommendations to the board from the Advanced Technology Fund (SB 07-182). Due to the passage of HB 10-1018 (Waste Tire Program), the Advanced Technology Grant Program ended on June 30, 2010.

Members may serve up to three consecutive terms. For more information on the powers and duties of the committee as well as membership requirements, please refer to House Bill 07-1288, Section 5 .
