Mission and Values

Mission:  The mission of the Refugee Health Program of Colorado is to provide newly arrived refugees and asylees with critical public and mental health screenings and referrals that assist them in attaining health self-sufficiency while protecting and preserving the health of the people of Colorado.


Values: The Refugee Health Program of Colorado will achieve its mission through our core values.


              Resolve problems through teamwork and open communication


              Establish and maintain positive community partnerships


              Follow recommended clinical guidelines


              Utilize medically trained interpreters and ensure linguistic and culturally appropriate care


              Gather complete and accurate data


              Educate and empower patients using best practices tailored to their abilities


              Ensure a well-trained, competent, and professional workforce


              Support the public health interest of Colorado residents and act as advocates for refugee health
