CIIS recognizes that it may become necessary for a researcher or specifically authorized person to obtain potentially identifying data from confidential records kept in the registry in order to conduct legitimate research on the treatment, control, investigation, and prevention of diseases and conditions hazardous to the public's health.

Researchers may gain access to potentially identifying information in CIIS provided that certain conditions are met.

HEDIS Requests

The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, or HEDIS, is a tool used by more than 90% of America's health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service, including the delivery of immunizations. CIIS can provide HEDIS matches for health plans provided that they have a signed Letter of Agreement and submit data to CIIS on at least a monthly basis.
