Meaningful Use Guidance

CDPHE Declaration of Readiness
As a part of Stage 2 Meaningful Use, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has both the technical and administrative capacity to support Electronic Lab Reporting, Immunization Reporting, and Cancer Registry Reporting. Please visit the CDPHE Declaration of Readiness section below for more specifics.
 
*Note: CDPHE is not supporting Syndromic Surveillance at this time. However, Denver Public Health and Tri-County Health Department are supporting Syndromic Surveillance for facilities in their jurisdictions. For more information, follow the links below.
 
What Do I Need To Do?
Step 1: Registration
Register your intent to attest for any or all public health objectives by completing the Meaningful Use Registration Form.
 
Step 2: Requirement Review
Review the requirements and guidance for each objective: Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR), Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS), Syndromic Surveillance, and Cancer Registry.

Step 3: On-Boarding
You will be contacted by the CDPHE program or local public health agency responsible for each objective and will start the on-boarding process specific to that objective. Details for the on-boarding process for each objective can be found in the objective-specific links above.

The CDPHE ELR Program is currently capable of receiving electronic laboratory reports and is accepting registrations for Stage 2 Meaningful Use.

CIIS is currently capable of receiving electronic data from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and is accepting registrations from Eligible Providers and Eligible Hospitals for the Stage 2 Meaningful Use immunization reporting public health objective.

CCCR is currently capable of receiving electronic data from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and is accepting registrations from Eligible Providers for the Stage 2 Meaningful Use cancer reporting public health objective.
